Step 1: Identify Your Target Audience
Blah blah blah I know what you are thinking “I hear this all the time” well, then you know what needs to be done which is for you to identify who your message is for! In order to create content that converts you must create quality content your ideal audience wants to hear, read, learn, see, and experience. In your marketing or sales messaging if you are speaking to the wrong crowd that is the reason why your content or messaging isn’t being received because you are either speaking to the wrong audience or not creating content your audience wants and can relate to. The content you create must connect your brand to your audience and your audience to your brand because when this takes place you’ll see more instant sales and happy buyers!
Think about it this way can you create quality content before knowing who your audience is? Here’s one tip from me I need you to understand please avoid creating content just to create. You need to consistently show up for your audience and create quality content that speaks directly to the audience you want to attract who will become raving fans, look forward to your live videos, stories, and want to buy from you. Write a list of your buyer persona’s pain points, interests, beliefs, and lifestyle etc., think about what they like or love and ways you can incorporate what you offer in their life or business. If you already have customers or clients now consider the attributes your current buyers have and what made them buy from you or your brand. Ask your current buyers what makes them engage with your content and buy from you some of your buyers would be happy to help or offer a gift for feedback just remember to ask specific questions that will help you get to the bottom of what content you provide that interest them and converted them into a buyer. Step 2: Your Marketing & Sales Message
Your marketing message must be clear and concise for your audience to understand. When you don’t understand who your audience is and what they want from you they end up not understanding you and unable to determine whether or not you are a fit for them. A confused mind won’t buy and a confused mind does nothing. Your quality content should be personalized or custom made to attract your ideal buyers who are right for your products, services, and content I can’t stress this enough. Your marketing and sales messaging should be compelling and captivating that causes your audience to buy and borderline take part in every sale you have, look forward to reading your emails and blogs, and take action when you give a call to action.
Speaking of CTA in every piece of quality content you put out there should always be some sort of next step or action you want your audience to take. What leads to failure in business when it comes down to the messaging is assuming your audience will take the next step and look for more information, your freebies, join your email list, or anything else for that matter. NO! Tell your audience specifically what action you want them to take next that will put them in a better position, offer them value, or will allow you to nurture them with more content they’ll enjoy and look forward to. Always give out clear and concise directions refrain from making the process complicated because it’s not. I have been able to grow my email list more lately and I found out that the success came from me posting better content my audience wants and giving clear call to actions such as my Instagram page in almost every post there’s a CTA and more of my audience is clicking the link in my bio for a specific solution because in my content I’m clearly explaining what the next step is and making sure my CTA flows with the overall message in each post.
In your messaging you want to be relatable for example, motivational content is in these days yes, post content relative to your business, but at least once a week or twice per week motivate your audience especially on Monday’s! Create and post content your audience can resonate with and be more personable, friendly, and vibrant not a robot! Put a face and a voice with your brand, go live, take polls in your Facebook group, use the poll sticker in your IG stories, and find out what your audience wants.
Step 3: Researching Content Ideas that Converts
You LOVE Google? So do I, however, I still recommend that you work with a marketer or consultant to help you with creating content that converts and dynamic explosive marketing messages that will make your audience pull out their credit cards out with no second thought and then justify their actions after they buy.... Why am I saying this? Because your buyers are not rational they buy in most cases due to desperation, the need of such as the need of solving their challenge NOW not later, and emotional reasons the rationale comes after the fact. Now with the analytical buyers they go back and forth thinking and talking themselves out of a deal, but even the analytics are not rational my point is your buyers have made decisions to buy on and offline with or without doubts whether the doubt came in before or after the purchase. Your job is to make sure they don’t regret their decision overall… Ok back to Google!
Google is a great search engine tool to search for content ideas however, keep in mind there’s a lot of content on Google that you do NOT have time to go through. How do you know what information applies to you or who is an expert or not? Some content on Google is outdated so indeed you can definitely search for content ideas via Google however, I recommend you hire a marketer to help you research the best content ideas, survey your current audience, and current buyers to get a better idea of what type of content you should be producing consistently for your ideal audience. You can search for content ideas on Google nonetheless, it doesn’t stop there and requires more specific ideas to your brand, business, and audience. What’s my point? Get help beyond yourself and Google because if you are here right now you are searching for a solution to solve your biggest challenge and purchasing a solution can help you faster than a free solution that requires you to go through tons of loopholes. In the meantime research the best content ideas in your industry or market and test out some content often times you need to just put content out there and see how your audience responds to it. You may find out the response is low because your content doesn’t have enough exposure which is another topic for another day or you may find out that you are speaking to the wrong audience, and lastly the content wasn’t the right content for your audience.
Marketing and sales can be hit or miss this can be frustrating, but imagine having the ideal audience you want making over six figures in your business it can become worth the frustrations! Step 4: Create Content that Connects to Your Product(s) or Service(s)
If you have not determined the benefits of your products and services not so much the features, but how your product, service, or solution benefits your audience now is the time to discover. If your product or service does not solve your audience’s challenge then what are the benefits? Creating quality content that connects to your products or services builds more excitement, preparation, and momentum. If your audience enjoys your content they will more than likely want to buy your products. Posting content that isn’t relevant to the products you want to sell this can create a disconnection to your audience and when you’re ready to sell no wonder there’s crickets.
BONUS: Create and post content consistently you can repurpose old content and post on social media, send your email subscribers some love and tips, your blog, Vlog, website, YouTube, and other marketing channels you use to deliver high quality content. Your audience will respect you when you show up for them as your highest self consistently and this can mean three to four times a week but it should be noticeable where your audience will miss you if you’ve been gone for too long or if they haven’t heard from you. If you to create brand authority keep putting yourself including your face out there and your content that will turn your watchers into engaged buyers. Creating great content takes patience, discipline, and a lot of testing and errors so make sure you love what you do and create content yourself and audience will enjoy. Refrain from rushing the process because it requires you to put systems and automations in process to avoid burn-out expect to spend anywhere between 10-15 plus hours on creating and posting great content and copy that converts.
