You have spent countless months, even days of sleepless nights crafting a great product or service. You talk about it with your close friends and sometimes your business peers. However, you can’t land that first customer or client sign up. You think about what you are doing wrong or whether you are offering your service to the right group of people.
It’s understandable how not being able to sell can be discouraging. But don’t think of it as a hurdle but more of a learning opportunity. Creating an effective marketing strategy is never an easy task, you have to exert as much effort as what you put into creating your product or service. Marketing starts with knowing who you are targeting your product to. Instead of getting the attention of people you want to target, you’re probably reaching out to the wrong people.
Don’t waste your time targeting the wrong customers and in turn miss sales. Use these tips to help you effectively reach out and connect with potential clients.
As I have mentioned earlier, knowing your customers is one of the first steps to marketing your business. Identify their age group, education, location, employment status, and even their marital status. If you are selling a bookkeeping software as a service (SaaS) solution, for example, you may want to target the middle-aged group (30-55 years old) which common job titles are a company’s head of digital, senior accountant or a chief financial officer - those that can make decisions to purchase a system for their company.
While demographics identify people of a certain group, that does not necessarily mean that all of them possess the same customs, beliefs, or culture. Factors such as individual preferences, experiences, or opinions affect customer’s purchasing decisions. As a marketer for your business or product, you should differentiate your target customers based on their buying priorities and what they value. Customer psychographics let you identify the buyer’s persona to help you gauge whether this person is a potential client or not. The key psychographics for a potential customer of a Bookkeeping SaaS solution are business persons who value their business’ data security, want to have a balanced work and life, and those that are looking for ways to automate their process and solve their business problems.
One of the easiest ways to know your target customers is to know your competitor. While you want to focus your efforts on your own business, it is also useful to think about your competition. Who are they selling to? How are they selling? A simple way to research your competitors is by going online. Analyze their website or find out their social media activity and highlight key points that reveal their market - it can be their posts, ads, or how they communicate their product to the public. You can even go beyond Google. Attend industry conferences or join associations related to your industry to learn more about how your competitors interact and sell.
Respond to Your Audience
Respond to every email, message, tweet, comments, and calls from your prospective clients. With so many new businesses coming out each day, it is difficult to stand out and develop a decent amount of following. To get support from consumers, you must first establish trust. Let potential prospective clients know that you can be trusted even with simple online replies or call back for their questions. That goes beyond the signup or sale. Being responsive to potential or existing customers shows that you value them. Even existing customers may recommend your business because they know that you can be trusted and that might lead to another sale.
Know the Trend
There’s no need to chase every new innovation that comes along you and your customer’s way but you should have a strong understanding that time changes and things evolve over time. As a product or service-based business, it is important to be aware of the development in your industry and adapt to these changes, else, you will be left behind in the race. A bookkeeping SaaS solution, as a technology business should be up to date with the advancements in automated business processes and adhere to the potential clients’ changing demands.
Explore Media Channels
If you want to know more about your industry and your customers’ needs, explore the benefits of different media channels. This enables you to communicate with them efficiently and get your business across all platforms. The effective media channel will depend on your product or service but the most popular ones to use would be social media, pay per click marketing, email, and your website to name a few. No matter what the size of your business, there are a lot of marketing channels you can use. To know which ones are right for you, try the most popular ones and know which platform works best.
You can choose to have everyone as a target customer but knowing your niche and finding how to best communicate with them will be one of the best ways to make more sales.

You are a busy entrepreneur or small business owner. You are either wearing all the hats in your business or at least trying to. You are either working full time in your business or you are still currently employed while treating your business as the side chick. What’s important to know is the same time, effort, and energy you give your job should transfer over to your business. Why? Well, it’s because your business is your baby. If you are still employed your job can take care of the bills and fund your business but on the other hand, being employed prevents you from focusing on your business the way you should whether you are at the starting or growing phase. Your goal is to eventually quit your full-time job or jobs but you are waiting for your business to magically grow so you can quit right?
The challenge with that is in order for you to quit your job(s) someday you must invest in your business, commit to it, and market your business. All of this requires time and energy on your part or else consider delegation which is another great word for outsourcing. You are always saying “I don’t have time” or struggling to fit in business tasks throughout the day but do you say this when you’re working a job? You probably spend eight hours a day making someone else rich or wealthy not including travel time. It’s possible to squeeze in time for your business on a job. If you are in a position where you can quit your job and survive consider getting support such as a marketing consultant, coach, and marketing team along with others who can save you time and money in the long run. Doing it all on your own is a big mistake but in some cases, you have to do it. Today your biggest time challenge or time management challenge can be solved if you take fast action.
I have always been an ambitious person who believed in myself. I knew someday I would be in a management role because it was my gift. I understood business and marketing so well and love all things content creation. On my last job I was in a promoted teaching position and as much as I love teaching I was starting to get stressed out. I had a classroom with at least twenty five almost thirty students. I was so good that students who had behavior issues principals would request that I take additional students that other teachers could not handle or discipline. My workload was high because of the demand of students, lesson planning, and home. On top of that, I was working two jobs.
I won’t bore you with all the details but as you can see below my schedule was hectic and stressful throughout the day. I had to squeeze in so much such as homework and promoting on social media which isn’t included below. Whenever I could squeeze time into my schedule to work on my passion or personal activities I made the sacrifice.
* I would go to church on Wednesday and Friday nights around 7 PM to 10 PM depending upon my work schedule. I ran my classes basically with little to no help. I would make time to work out sometimes LOL and didn’t mention that on some nights I would be working my teaching job and other marketing jobs until ten at night.
The purpose of this blog post is to show that it’s possible to commit to building a business. One summer I got fed up because of the particular position I was in there was no summer pay. I finally made the decision to walk away from what I loved doing and put my skills to the test. Before I left my job I already had marketing clients and the rest has been history. I was also suffering from medical conditions that sometimes required me to leave early from work once or twice a week and then come back to finish working or relieve my sub. My students would be so sad and they loved cutting up a little bit when I was gone because Ms. Davis wasn’t having it especially when I’m present LOL. The workload and wanting to spend more time at home with my family and health made me make a decision to resign. I have such a diverse work history that has taught me so much and I apply what I’ve learned to my business today. I got to a place where I couldn’t take it anymore. I wanted more from life and to be in control over my time and finances. I didn’t like being underpaid for my hard efforts and then my health suffering at that. I took back control over my life and by being a marketing consultant I’m helping other women do the same.
Are you ready for time freedom? Not saying you have to quit your job now if you’re working but you can gain back more time to grow your business. In this “Time Freedom Money Making Challenge” within seven days you will learn how to put effective systems in place that will give you time freedom and more money. You might also be a busy owner not making money because you are spending your time on the wrong things. Time management is vital for your success if you don’t have enough time to get things done and won’t make certain tasks mandatory meaning non-negotiable you will find yourself running in circles. When was the last time you completed a course, blog post (like this one), program, working with a coach, reading a book, promoting on social media consistently, and doing all the important activities that drive sales to your business and website?
To learn more about the Time Freedom Money Challenge and marketing strategies click the link here bit.ly/ddmsfreedom listen, you do need time to make more money and make your dreams come true. Oftentimes you assume money is the solution but time management and having the right resources and guidance will take you further.

How to Overcome Prospects Sales Objections
Addressing objections can help you grow your business in many ways this isn’t the easiest skill to master in sales or sales psychology but once you get the method down you’ll see an increase in revenue and become a pro negotiator well, sort of. In this blog post, I’m going to give you practical tips or strategies to overcome clients and prospects' objections.
One reason you should address your prospect's objections in your content, sales copy, marketing message, and or during the sales call is because this creates an opportunity for your prospect's challenge(s) to be solved. Let me explain what I mean on the other hand you can talk them into a deal they want or need instead of allowing prospects to talk themselves out of a deal or a chance to work with you or take ownership of the products and services they want and need. Your audience and prospects are the potential buyers and you are the seller which means you need to be bold and confident borderline aggressive with your sales strategy in terms of the intentions and being ahead of their objections, statements, and beliefs they have. No, this won’t feel uncomfortable, yucky, or not sincere as sales should be fun making money paying bills, making an impact, and living your blessed life should be fun, not miserable and stressful. You are in for a treat so stick around plus I always save the best for last most times.
I don’t have the money or budget is the number one objection (excuse) in the world of all sales and marketing history this isn’t debatable. Oftentimes your prospects don’t have it and sometimes they do have it but fear to invest or buy your product or service. This has more to do with you than them sometimes because that means you are not positioning your brand as valuable and worthy of your prospect's coins. This also means there’s no sense of urgency and your prospects assume they have time because you avoid applying pressure.
Applying pressure to cause or motivate action instead of inaction and them walking away with nothing is not the same as applying stress. Applying stress can mean a lot and be broken down in different ways but to keep it simple an example of applying stress is aggressively trying to force or shove your products or services down your prospects throats knowing they are not a fit at the time or not willing to come up with or sacrifice the funds to buy from you. In other words, you know they’re not a fit and not ready to make the commitment knowing the plan will more than likely fall apart when it’s a forced deal instead of an eye-opening deal or experience.
What do I mean by the eye-opening deal? This means that your prospects may need a gentle push in the right direction and you open their eyes and help them to see the value, understand why now is the time, and help them to visualize what life or business would be like with or without your products or services. In a way, this method keeps (you) the seller in control while making sure your potential buyers are comfortable feeling that they are in control making the decision not you controlling them. Customers, clients, and prospects want to feel valued they want you to care about them and their needs your prospects can smell greed and desperation. They can tell when it’s all about the money and they can tell when the transaction will benefit one side and that’s you. Make sure you position yourself as a fair seller who wants happy buyers and believes in even exchanges where both parties are satisfied and will benefit each other in the end.
Apply the knowledge to your copy, content, and marketing message and sales approach. Let's go a little bit deeper with common sales objections and define how to maneuver and overcome sales objections to increase sales for your business.
Other Common Sales Objections
1. MONEY, MONEY, and MONEY
2. “I’ve spent my budget on other efforts so my budget is tight” (The feel bad for me because I mismanaged my money investing on the wrong products and services and now I need you to cheat yourself and cut me a deal because of my past decisions type of buyers…)
3. I don’t have the money prospects (let your potential buyers or prospects know manifestation is real you have what you say if you say “I don’t have” you won’t have anything and that’s not the right mindset or state of mind to be in.)
4. I will be ready next quarter or next year
The time is now not later the results and transformation wouldn’t even be the same if they waited. Make sure your prospects understand what will happen if they wait (such as losing a limited offer, product or service no longer being available, price increase, and more.)
5. One of my favorite lines “I will save up the money or get some sales or extra hours at work and come back” (to overcome this objection be firm and make it clear there is no next time the limited offer or deal will be off the table and the price will go up. Make sure your prospects understand that now is the time and they do not have time to waste or wait. Avoid telling them “I’ll be here” only say that if you really don’t want them as a client or customer.)
6. Will your product or service help me or apply to me? To overcome this objection it’s simple, not complicated: you have to buy to try which means you won’t know what works for you or not until you buy it. Ask Walmart can you try out their products before buying to see if it’ll work right there on the spot. Some products and services come with a money-back guarantee however everything in life doesn’t come with a guarantee it’s about taking risks.
7. “I have to cancel, can we reschedule, or can you call me back?” Either they are annoyed by you following up too much or they don’t want to invest or don’t see the value and rush. These types of prospects were probably pumped up to buy from you but self-doubt crept in or they are trying to rationalize and talk themselves out of buying.
8. They are working with your competition (great because you do have competition and then you don’t when you know you’re the best and what you offer speaks for itself.) This is an opportunity to discuss your unique value proposition and what makes your brand stand out from other brands.
9. You should just love the “I don’t have time” prospects! Money is the number one objection while time falls second in place. The prospects who don’t have time to make a decision and invest in what they want or need make themselves believe they are busier than what they are. They’re also the main ones making less or not making what they desire let's be real if JayZ and Oprah have time to make business decisions and impacts your prospects, buyers, customers, or clients have nothing but time. Excuses can’t be deposited at the bank.
10. Another one of my favorites “Can you send me the details or information” your prospects don’t need any more information they need results and transformation which means this type of language should be mentioned in your marketing content, messaging, and sales copy. When clients or prospects tell you this they are pushing you off to the side which means your product or service isn’t a priority to them. Part of that could be maybe they are not your ideal buyer the flip side could be again they don’t see the value or sense of urgency. You can offer demos, ask better questions to understand your prospects, and or create informative short videos that are persuading and when I say short I mean one minute or less avoid going past five minutes.
There are tons of objections that weren’t mentioned in this article but excuses are everywhere. Your job is to help your prospects see the value the before and after look along with the possibilities. Avoid selling them fake dreams or misleading them for sales find an authentic sales approach or marketing approach. Marketing and sales can be comfortable and sometimes uncomfortable therefore avoid being afraid to step out of your comfort zone to increase your sales online and offline. The main reasons why you’re intimidated with sales and overcoming sales objections and prospects objections is the fear of hearing no or launching a product or service to hear nothing but crickets with no sales or few sales.
Your common sales objections from prospects relate to money, time, and your audience and prospects not seeing the value. Sometimes your prospects not seeing the value has something to do with them when it does you can’t change their mind without it ended on a bad note whereas your target audience would buy from you if they understand the benefits and value. Avoid attaching money to the value of your products and services to be clear this doesn’t mean that there isn’t a certain amount of money that has to be paid to obtain the goods or services you sell this means to not sell solely on price but value. When you cannot express the value of your products and services this tells prospects you’re not confident in what you offer , therefore, they don’t see the value due to your lack of confidence. Make sure you believe in yourself and display confidence throughout your marketing content, messaging, sales calls, sales copy, and all marketing channels you’re creating and delivering to prospects to grow your business.

In today's era, social media marketing has become a tool for brand sustainability. As a business owner, you are desperately seeking a new approach for bringing your company's brand to prospective clients. Interestingly enough, various social media platforms help you promoting your brand, growing your sales and connecting with your present customers such as Instagram. To effectively use Instagram, engagement is the key all the way to success.
Engagement is essential to your brand and the number one goal to work on by Instagrammers and social media marketers. It's not all about your audience size, but the degree of loyalty you earn from your followers. The percentage of the audience's likes, shares, and comments are measured in terms of good engagement. Aside from such remarkable numbers, Instagram engagement is bound to change dramatically with its algorithm and which may be hard to prevent. Many marketers are questioning if Instagram is still a good place to market but it just depends on Instagram could be the right place to market your products and services consistently.
Fortunately, Instagram remains one of the best places for online branding and building a community to promote your business. So don't settle for a lesser competition! If you are yet to use Instagram or currently using it to market your business but not seeing the results you expected, I'll share with you these winning tactics that can level up your engagement.
1. Start with Instagram Stories
In 2019, Instagram's engagement is not only likes, following, hashtags and comments, it also includes your stories, IGTV views, and more. They are a great substitute to interact with your audience. This will level up your engagement parameters because of the nature of Stories, which keeps your audience interested and using Instagram app which Instagram wants is for users to be active. This has been embraced by users to attract and interact with a post of your story and then will land to your profile page also keep in mind again that stories are discoverable.
You should consider including mentions, stickers, tagging a location, hashtags, links, and polls every time you post an Instagram story. To create a story, tap the camera symbol on the right side of your feed. ⠀
You should consider including mentions, stickers, tagging a location, hashtags, links, and polls every time you post an Instagram story. To create a story, tap the camera symbol on the right side of your feed. ⠀
2. Run a contest
Contests are an effective engagement tool for exposing your brand on Instagram. It is proven and tested that engagement rates were increased dramatically through contests. One of the best comments you can have is when your followers mention their friends that help to introduce a new member. Running an Instagram contest involves planning to generate the captivating contest post from collaboration with another brand to improve reach and identify contest requirements and goals–for example,' enter to win,'' like to win' or' follow to win.'
When you were able to implement, develop strategies for the contest; consider website banners, social network plugs, email marketing, and Instagram ads. It's also important to monitor the contest when it's up and running. Track the performance of your contest by using Google Alerts, hashtags, and other tracking platforms. Once it’s ended, promote the results on your social networks.
3. Interact with your audience
The best way to increase engagement is to simply interact and reply to users who like and mainly the ones who comment on your posts. Instagram algorithm recognizes that the post is probably interesting and relevant to your followers. It is essential to reply to the comments in order to keep that interaction going or build up momentum and to get your post to rank up more in your followers. As users increasingly react to you, your replies will make your followers feel special. They will tend to stay loyal to you and convert into customers.
4. Collaborate with Influencers
Marketers should understand first the concept of influencer marketing, and plan an appropriate strategy with a brief experiment campaign to see how effective the network of influencers is to the brand. Instagram influencer marketing is booming these days, enabling marketers to work with influential individuals in their niche to introduce brands to obtain a wider audience. Collaborations also work for individuals like you promoting your brand.
Instagram's basic principle is that your engagement is to interact with other’s engagement. Find accounts that are similar to yours and interact with followers, users they follow and regularly comment on their posts. You can increase your chances of visibility by interacting with other users on the platform.
Choosing the right influencer to collaborate with might be a challenging task because the quality of engagement is as important as the quantity. The more you interact, the more visible your account becomes, and the more engagement you get from visitors.
5. Monitor The Best Time to Post
To make sure your audience sees your content, you must figure out the best time of the day for posting your content. The best time to post on Instagram is basically when your followers are online that drives more results to your account. Likewise, avoid posting when your followers are offline, as your content is likely to get a small conversion.
To track the time, use social media analytics tools such as Iconosquare, Instagram Insights, and more or you can manually do it by tapping Insight on your Instagram Business page.
6. Use IGTV
Although Instagram is a platform to share pictures, the social network has also innovating to provide users a better experience to share and watch other's stories. Interestingly, Instagram has an IGTV feature, another way to broadcast your brand where your audience can spend more time watching the content aside from the 15-second limit on videos. With a video library specifically for IGTV, it opens a wide door for a higher viewership, a broader audience, and more value. The investment added to Instagram and the promotion of this new platform will also bring out your brand to the next level.
7. Write a Captivating Caption
Your caption tells a story and sets the atmosphere of the post which is why you need to be creative in providing a captivating caption. Your content is the highlight of your engagement so be creative. The new algorithm focuses on the time spent on the post, which creates more engagement and allows users to spend more time reading your post.
There are many styles to write your caption: it can be lengthy, informative captions that tell a story, even a short caption can increase engagement too. Use a CTA. Ask a question or encourage users to tag a friend who would like your post. Don't underestimate the magic of a caption!
It’s already 2019 and your business must also apply different Instagram marketing tactics today. Whether you believe it or not, Facebook marketing alone will not help you stand out. Instead, if you don't want your competition to stay ahead of you I strongly recommend that you learn how to leverage Instagram to grow your business and reach your ideal audience. It's not yet too late to expose your brand. Don't wait until you're running out of time and regret in the end.

Have you heard of a brain fart, brain farts, or having writers' block? Even the best of the best writers struggle in this area. I can only imagine what you’re going through if you don’t consider yourself to be a writer or at least the best writer.
Do you find yourself struggling to stay focused with all the distractions around you? You have the kids on one end, your partner, that long to-do list, career, business, and everything else going on around you that distracts you even stress can lead to writers' block amongst many other personal issues you have.
Here are a few ways you can create content topics and ideas to share with your audience even when you’re distracted, not the best writer, or just don’t know where to begin.
Step #1 Find a Quiet Space or Hide Out
You need a secret hiding place to concentrate writing content can be not only time-consuming but requires your undivided attention. Even with writing a blog post or social media post, it can take up to an hour or longer to gather your thoughts because so much goes into writing. If the coffee shop is too loud for you to concentrate then sign up for co-working space for example, whenever I’m ready to, I can go to my local co-working space Greencow with like-minded entrepreneurs whose main focus is to not only network but get work done outside the house or the noisy coffee shop!
Now another thought to consider is that going outside the house can give you more inspiration it may not be that you’re not a great writer you need inspiration and motivation maybe hanging out where like-minded entrepreneurs hang out at might inspire and motivate you.
If working from home floats your boat, then write your content from home. You can write when the house is quiet, everyone is asleep, or when everyone is away for the day.
Step #2 Write How You Like
When writing content ideas, you can start in a google doc sheet that way your work can automatically be saved, imagine creating great content or ideas, and then you lose it or forget to save your work. Technology isn’t perfect, which is why I love starting on a piece of paper or in my journal, you can do the same. Sometimes writing in your journal vs. your computer can be more effective for you and make you feel less overwhelmed or you can try both methods. My point is for you to create freely. However, the way YOU choose to that makes you comfortable! You don’t have to do what works for others, or your favorite influencer write and create the way that feels good to you!
Step #3 Brain Dump
Crack open your journal and or planner my favorite and current planner right now is by Alon David, called 90X Planner I highly recommend it, and the newer planners have a brain dump section along with other amazing features. To purchase 90X goal planner, click on the links below and enjoy! https://90xgoalplanner.com/product/90x-goal-planner/ Follow 90X on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/90XGoalPlanner/
Open up your journal, notebook, or head over to google docs for FREE and start dumping your content ideas whatever you’re thinking, feeling, or want to share let it out with no filter (don’t hold back). I tell my clients this all the time think about the conversations you had with potential buyers or current buyers what do they like, what pain points or excuses did they share with you, and is there anything they said or posted online that you can use as content in your own words? Inspiration is all around you, especially when you take the time to sit back and listen and participate in groups on Facebook or hang out where your ideal buyers are. Get out a little and attend networking events, do polls in your Facebook group, and Instagram stories to find out what content, products, and or services your audience wants you to share with them and then dump all of these ideas in your notes on your phone, Google docs, planner, or your journal. Yes, it’s that simple just start dumping ideas down and write! Like Nike says “Just Do It” that’s what it takes for you to simply get your productive tasks done. Allow yourself to freely express your thoughts with NO restrictions or restraints, avoid trying to control the writing process, or your content ideas. Remember once you choose a topic and gather your thoughts you can edit and revise later.
Step #4 Take a Break
Yes! Take a break you won’t believe how long it took me to finish this blog post I started working on this blog around 5 AM and it took me until after 10 PM to send it to my team for it to be uploaded on my blog site. I did a bunch of other activities in between writing, and that’s okay
not to force it unless you have a deadline to meet. Put on some music and jam out even natural writers like me have writer’s block including entertainers such as TV show writers and songwriters; therefore, you shouldn’t feel awful because you have blocks when it comes to writing. Writing takes practice, and words start from the heart and mind, along with inspiration, embrace all of this until you come up with the best content and ideas. When your brain needs a rest to listen to it and find something productive to do, and when your brain is ready to cooperate again, the best ideas will flow. Just remember to finish what you start it’s okay to take a break but set goals and reminders for yourself to complete what you start so you’ll become more disciplined and successful.
I highly suggest you check out my other blog post 4 Ways to Create Content that Converts that will be an additional resource from what you’ve learned in reading in this week’s blog. Step 1: Identify Your Target Audience
Blah blah blah I know what you are thinking “I hear this all the time” well, then you know what needs to be done which is for you to identify who your message is for! In order to create content that converts you must create quality content your ideal audience wants to hear, read, learn, see, and experience. In your marketing or sales messaging if you are speaking to the wrong crowd that is the reason why your content or messaging isn’t being received because you are either speaking to the wrong audience or not creating content your audience wants and can relate to. The content you create must connect your brand to your audience and your audience to your brand because when this takes place you’ll see more instant sales and happy buyers!
Think about it this way can you create quality content before knowing who your audience is? Here’s one tip from me I need you to understand please avoid creating content just to create. You need to consistently show up for your audience and create quality content that speaks directly to the audience you want to attract who will become raving fans, look forward to your live videos, stories, and want to buy from you. Write a list of your buyer persona’s pain points, interests, beliefs, and lifestyle etc., think about what they like or love and ways you can incorporate what you offer in their life or business. If you already have customers or clients now consider the attributes your current buyers have and what made them buy from you or your brand. Ask your current buyers what makes them engage with your content and buy from you some of your buyers would be happy to help or offer a gift for feedback just remember to ask specific questions that will help you get to the bottom of what content you provide that interest them and converted them into a buyer. If you want to learn more about discovering and uncovering your ideal audience check out my free Target Audience 101 Training class to attract your ideal buyers now!
Step 2: Your Marketing & Sales Message
Your marketing message must be clear and concise for your audience to understand. When you don’t understand who your audience is and what they want from you they end up not understanding you and unable to determine whether or not you are a fit for them. A confused mind won’t buy and a confused mind does nothing. Your quality content should be personalized or custom made to attract your ideal buyers who are right for your products, services, and content I can’t stress this enough. Your marketing and sales messaging should be compelling and captivating that causes your audience to buy and borderline take part in every sale you have, look forward to reading your emails and blogs, and take action when you give a call to action.
Speaking of CTA in every piece of quality content you put out there should always be some sort of next step or action you want your audience to take. What leads to failure in business when it comes down to the messaging is assuming your audience will take the next step and look for more information, your freebies, join your email list, or anything else for that matter. NO! Tell your audience specifically what action you want them to take next that will put them in a better position, offer them value, or will allow you to nurture them with more content they’ll enjoy and look forward to. Always give out clear and concise directions refrain from making the process complicated because it’s not. I have been able to grow my email list more lately and I found out that the success came from me posting better content my audience wants and giving clear call to actions such as my Instagram page in almost every post there’s a CTA and more of my audience is clicking the link in my bio for a specific solution because in my content I’m clearly explaining what the next step is and making sure my CTA flows with the overall message in each post.
In your messaging you want to be relatable for example, motivational content is in these days yes, post content relative to your business, but at least once a week or twice per week motivate your audience especially on Monday’s! Create and post content your audience can resonate with and be more personable, friendly, and vibrant not a robot! Put a face and a voice with your brand, go live, take polls in your Facebook group, use the poll sticker in your IG stories, and find out what your audience wants.
Step 3: Researching Content Ideas that Converts
You LOVE Google? So do I, however, I still recommend that you work with a marketer or consultant to help you with creating content that converts and dynamic explosive marketing messages that will make your audience pull out their credit cards out with no second thought and then justify their actions after they buy.... Why am I saying this? Because your buyers are not rational they buy in most cases due to desperation, the need of such as the need of solving their challenge NOW not later, and emotional reasons the rationale comes after the fact. Now with the analytical buyers they go back and forth thinking and talking themselves out of a deal, but even the analytics are not rational my point is your buyers have made decisions to buy on and offline with or without doubts whether the doubt came in before or after the purchase. Your job is to make sure they don’t regret their decision overall… Ok back to Google!
Google is a great search engine tool to search for content ideas however, keep in mind there’s a lot of content on Google that you do NOT have time to go through. How do you know what information applies to you or who is an expert or not? Some content on Google is outdated so indeed you can definitely search for content ideas via Google however, I recommend you hire a marketer to help you research the best content ideas, survey your current audience, and current buyers to get a better idea of what type of content you should be producing consistently for your ideal audience. You can search for content ideas on Google nonetheless, it doesn’t stop there and requires more specific ideas to your brand, business, and audience. What’s my point? Get help beyond yourself and Google because if you are here right now you are searching for a solution to solve your biggest challenge and purchasing a solution can help you faster than a free solution that requires you to go through tons of loopholes. In the meantime research the best content ideas in your industry or market and test out some content often times you need to just put content out there and see how your audience responds to it. You may find out the response is low because your content doesn’t have enough exposure which is another topic for another day or you may find out that you are speaking to the wrong audience, and lastly the content wasn’t the right content for your audience.
Marketing and sales can be hit or miss this can be frustrating, but imagine having the ideal audience you want making over six figures in your business it can become worth the frustrations! Another tip could be the copy you put out and I have a free guide that tells you what words to use and avoid in your sales copy this here should help bump up your content and copywriting download for free “Magnetic Words that Sell”
Do you know what’s hot on the market and the latest trends in your industry?
Step 4: Create Content that Connects to Your Product(s) or Service(s)
If you have not determined the benefits of your products and services not so much the features, but how your product, service, or solution benefits your audience now is the time to discover. If your product or service does not solve your audience’s challenge then what are the benefits? Creating quality content that connects to your products or services builds more excitement, preparation, and momentum. If your audience enjoys your content they will more than likely want to buy your products. Posting content that isn’t relevant to the products you want to sell this can create a disconnection to your audience and when you’re ready to sell no wonder there’s crickets.
BONUS: Create and post content consistently you can repurpose old content and post on social media, send your email subscribers some love and tips, your blog, Vlog, website, YouTube, and other marketing channels you use to deliver high quality content. Your audience will respect you when you show up for them as your highest self consistently and this can mean three to four times a week but it should be noticeable where your audience will miss you if you’ve been gone for too long or if they haven’t heard from you. If you to create brand authority keep putting yourself including your face out there and your content that will turn your watchers into engaged buyers. Creating great content takes patience, discipline, and a lot of testing and errors so make sure you love what you do and create content yourself and audience will enjoy. Refrain from rushing the process because it requires you to put systems and automations in process to avoid burn-out expect to spend anywhere between 10-15 plus hours on creating and posting great content and copy that converts.

I’m starting to fall in love with Instagram stories one reason is because my content on Instagram stories is discoverable. What does that mean? It means that people who aren’t following me can still see my stories now how do these people discover me? One way is due to me posting content on Instagram stories consistently in fact I’ve been using stories almost daily this has increased my following, engagement, and more activity in the DM’s and we all know it goes down in the DM’s! There’s nothing more amazing than saving myself time from draining sales calls I’m getting more targeted buyers who have their minds made up and know they want to buy from me.
Sharing my stories and what’s going on in my world or the thoughts in my head connects me to my followers and ideal audience on a deeper level. They get to know me better in a way that’s different than just posting on my newsfeed. I can have my #PersonalSaturday with my audience where I open up and tell my followers a few interesting facts about myself and create posts using stickers, asking questions, and more to get my viewers engaging and responding to me. I also use stories to educate my audience about business, marketing, sales, and motivational short video clips.
Millions of people are using Instagram stories, most users prefer Instagram stories over their newsfeed and are more engaged on Instagram stories. In marketing and sales storytelling not only can help you attract your ideal buyers or audience, but you can captivate their minds and hearts using stories. Storytelling is more relatable and real people enjoy communicating with other real people.
How to Sell Online Using Instagram Stories and What to Share
#1 Avoid overthinking Instagram stories you can easily show your followers the “behind the scenes” of your business and a few more ways, but not limited to:
The list goes on there’s a lot of activities you can share with your audience at least three to five days a week so get started now!
#2 YES! You can run Instagram Story Ads
Here’s a suggestion though refrain from wasting money on ads if your content is dull, not engaging, inconsistent, and poor quality.
Last but not least copywriting is vital to your success when it comes down to running ads. You must create copy and content for the right audience and have a message that aligns potential buyers to your brands with an irresistible offer.
What is an irresistible offer? One that makes sense, has a BIG promise, a complete no-brainer, sense of urgency, and is borderline too good to be true. Your offer must make sense to your potential buyers it should be either what they want or exactly what they need and have been waiting for! Make sure your content and copy is ready to go before spending money on ads that way the chances of better performance is greater and of course your ads can be tested and modified as needed.
#3 Instagram Stories Strategy
No game plan equals poor results! Video converts higher especially on Instagram therefore, leverage IGTV, post more video stories on IG (you can even include text captions for those who maybe at work and can’t listen but can read what you’re saying), and GO LIVE! You must build your presence online and show up consistently in order for your audience to look forward to your content on a regular. In all that you do have specific goals and intentions simply map out your game plan to dominate Instagram and Instagram stories.
The key or goal is to keep users or your followers engaging with your content longer this is done through storytelling think about when you read a book it’s not meant for you to be done reading in a few seconds. This is the exact reason why you want to post content on your stories that stretch for example, I could talk about ways to make money on Instagram with a small following if I teach on two to three points I can create more than five to seven clips (video or text) to keep my audience waiting for the next story and engaging with me instead of them skipping through. Your content must be engaging because guess what?
Your viewers who normally hop on the app for a few shorter periods of time will more than likely see stories or posts that’s MOST interesting to them. Whereas, an active user like me my feed, stories, and discovery refreshes frequently in other words Instagram shows me more content to keep me engaged and active on the app. Lets take a look at a sample Instagram Story plan now keep in mind your plan maybe more specific this is a general plan. In order to be successful and to follow through with your own custom plan you must decide what days and hours you’ll commit to and stick to your plan just in case your audience is watching you and looking forward to your content. Commit to what you can do so that you can show up as your high level self! Show up like a millionaire and dominate the gram!

Ways to market your business on a budget: Setting Up a Marketing Budget
Hey CEO, you’re wondering if it’s possible to market your business on a budget right? Truth be told every business owner should be on a budget whether the budget is tight or flexible. It’s critical to allocate your budget and spend money wisely so it’s encouraged that you set up a marketing budget. Before we go into ways to market your brand on a budget lets define and create your budget first (yes, this can change overtime or be adjusted as needed).
As a marketer and sales consultant I hear this a lot when I ask potential buyers or prospects what their marketing budget is and the conversation usually goes like this: “I don’t have a marketing budget, I never thought about it, or what do you charge?” One of the best advice I can give you from business owner to business owner is to never jump on a call with any business professional and not know what your budget is. Time is precious and negotiating back and forth because you don’t have a budget set in place especially for marketing can be time consuming always know your numbers. There’s no such thing as “I don’t have a budget or don’t know my budget” refrain from telling yourself and others you don’t know your numbers when clearly you do know what you can and can’t afford.
Setting Up Your Marketing Budget
#1 think about your goals short or long term whichever is important for you to conquer. For me I have long term goals, but focus more on my quarterly goals. Lets say your goal is to make $2,500 per month in 90 days or less or to make an extra 2k per month the reality is an investment such as $7, $27, $47, $97, and the rest of the pennies (yes, I said pennies) may not cut it.
Now am I saying that you can’t make a lot of money on a tight marketing budget? NO, that’s not what I mean however, with a low marketing budget you have to put in the leg work, time, sacrifices, and sweat equity 9/10 by yourself. So if you want to earn more money, market the right way, and save more time learning from others who made mistakes for you and can give you the shorter route you need to know your numbers and what you are willing to commit to consistently.
With having a budget there’s two situations to avoid that can easily happen 1) overspending and 2) underspending. Overspending makes sense when the ROI (return of investment) will be worth it or if it’s necessary to overspend for certain supplies, projects, or marketing services. On the other hand underspending may not be in the best interest of your company, current buyers, or future buyers in fact underspending might cause your business to not grow at least not fast enough. It’s true you do have to spend money to make money so refrain from being “stingy” with your business. If you believe in yourself and business spending should be easier by the day not harder.
#2 Know your deadline it’s critical to know exactly when you need something completed. For example, if a client wants me to craft content and copywriting pieces for them I need to know when they want the task completed as it can affect the price. Meaning if the client wants a rush order it might cost them more whereas if I’m given a reasonable timeframe for completion and research my price won’t go up. Understand and be clear on what you want and when you want it.
#3 Do a little research not too much that will lead to overwhelm and stressed, but enough to understand on average an estimated investment you need for marketing. No different than you already knowing on average how much milk costs because guess what? When you get to the register you won’t be able to negotiate for a deal just because you don’t know your numbers and didn’t do your own research or simply don’t have enough money.
#4 Will the budget come out of your pocket or your business account(s)? That depends and if you are reading this blog article right now it’s because you either need to be on a budget, want to be on one, or need to figure out a budget. When I started my business all of my funding came straight out of my own pocket. I believe that if I take care of my business it will in return take care of me back that’s the proper mindset to have. So avoid being afraid to spend your own personal money to fund your business welcome to the world of entrepreneurship it’s about taking your own risks. If you are a business owner or anticipating to become one you are the primary investor of your company. Plant and sow seeds into your business so it can grow and take care of you in return. Now enough of that, let's get into the numbers my favorite part.
You know what they say it’s a number’s game
Here’s an example of how you can budget DFY (done for you marketing services) and DIY (Do it yourself marketing) see estimates below.
YouTube + Google: Free (however, there’s a lot of information online some credible while others are not and you have no access to a mentor, consultant, coach, or team).
Courses: $15-$300 and UP that’s right I’ve seen courses at 3k and beyond while courses may include a free community group you will not have direct access to your consultant nor deep dives on specific topics. You can expect some LIVE Q&A’s, but no direct attention to your specific needs.
Ebooks: $0-40 Similar to courses except there’s no powerpoint presentations and not as visual as courses. Courses are video tutorials, masterclasses, and trainings.
Membership Subscriptions or Masterminds: Can run between $0-$400 plus per month
To promote on most social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook is a $0 investment outside of running ads that can bring exposure to your profile page, lead magnets, and website to name a few
Other digital products: $0-$297 and up
(Done For You Services or private 1:1/ Intensives)
Marketing is about getting your product, services, message, and brand communication out there to your ideal buyers this comes with a price tag and I recommend you avoid the cheap route. Why? Because I’ve done it before and the quality doesn’t always measure up there’s a phrase “you get what you pay for” and in most cases this can be true. Price shouldn’t be the final factor or reason to move forward with a product or service numbers don’t lie, but numbers can be deceiving. With someone or a team doing the marketing, promoting, and branding for you estimate depending on what you want or need the investment will be anywhere from $550-$1,500 per month or more.
On average social media ads cost at the minimum I’d recommend putting aside a $5 per day budget however for someone to properly run the ads for you so that your business can maximize it’s reach I hope you’re not expecting to pay an expert 2 bucks a day that’s being unreasonable and unrealistic. I’m being upfront so you won’t be disappointed in the end but prepared and website development and SEO can cost up to 1k and to handle your website or blogs SEO by an expert monthly would be a $250-$350 investment. To sum it up when it comes to done for you services avoid low numbers and aim higher for the best quality services and experience. At the minimum your DFY budget should be above 1k per month whereas your DIY budget could be $200-$650 per month. With DFY if you don’t have a 1k plus monthly budget my suggestion would be during your sales call with an expert value and respect their time be upfront about your budget forget about wondering or asking what they would charge to see if your number will be below their asking price! The reality is a marketing company or expert’s fees will typically always be higher than your budget or what you estimate.
Yes! I caught that you see I know how it goes, I've been in the marketing and sales industry for a while prospects want to know my fee or how much they’ll need to invest to work with me, but won’t tell me their budget for me it doesn’t work that way. Now I have a different mindset if a client or prospect can’t or won’t tell me their budget before our call (such as in my questionnaire or survey) I will automatically cancel their sales or fit call. Why? Because my time is precious and I respect my clients and prospects time I won’t be on the phone, DM’s, or emails negotiating back and forth about the investment or trying to create budget plans. Know your numbers before booking a call with me.
That is why I suggest you mention your situation briefly and what you can afford because one the expert might be able to work with you and scale back certain services or have other solutions available. Why hop on a call to discuss a package that’s not in your budget or that you’re not willing to invest in right now? When you want or need someone to do something for you always know what you’re willing to spend and sacrifice, invest, and by when if you’re unsure you’re not ready to invest in a team or support right now. If you outsource your marketing will you make more money faster until you can do better and budget more funds start where you can and do as much as you can on your own.
The next step:
Work on your marketing budget now for Q3 and determine how much can you spend towards coaching, consulting programs, and or digital products, and or outsourcing if you can make it happen. Having a marketing budget is apart of your marketing plan and you need a plan in order to know where you’re headed, what needs to be done, how much, and how much you’ll make with a plan (an estimate)… Do this in order to learn what you need to, connect with clients, or to acquire buyers this will require both investing financially and investing time. Lastly, it’s normal to associate money with a budget however keep in mind it’s vital to factor and budget in the time especially when you’re doing most of the marketing yourself. Prioritize and focus on what’s important for example, getting my nails, hair, and feet done weekly or bi-weekly isn’t more important than me paying my team, purchasing a domain, website hosting, or other expenses my business needs first.
That’s not to judge I truly believe in self-care however on the flip side I know what’s important to me and where I want my business to be. Therefore whatever sacrifices I must make to reach my goals I make top priority. I see it as if I sacrifice now later on I’ll have an abundance of cash flow where I won’t have to sacrifice one over the other. It’s mind over matter and a great strategy to practice so, let me know if my tips helped you.
